Beer is brewed with the power of the wind and the sun<\/p>

Completed in 2001, our brewery was the first production plant in the Nordic countries where all electricity was produced with wind power. In 2018, the region\u2019s largest solar power plant was built in connection with our brewery. This means that every last drop of our refreshing drinks is made with wind and solar power. The solution has been significant for the climate: over the years it has avoided more than 32,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.<\/p>

As our brewery has expanded, we have continuously developed its sustainability. In 2021, we built an energy-efficient refrigerating system.<\/p>

We donate the mash created in brewing beer to agriculture for animal feed. The flock of sheep that roams around our grounds in the summer also enjoy eating it. Waste yeast is composted and donated for soil reclamation.<\/p>

In 2016, we received a significant acknowledgement for our work as Greenpeace honoured Laitilan as Finland’s greenest brewery. Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas\u2019s beverages are made using pure ingredients in a pure environment. According to a UNESCO report, Finland has the best water in the world. Measurements also prove that we have the cleanest soil and air in Europe. Since we started our operations, our principle has been to make sure that our environment is in a good condition, also in the future.<\/p> <\/div><\/div>
